Two of us in Jeeps tried the entire loop just last month. We started up Pleasant Canyon and got stopped about way in. This was due to a combination of rocks and water...not good for traction. My friend was in a stock Wrangler and was leading. My Jeep is more capable but since he couldn't make it we turned back. The problem was the amount of algae on the rocks. There is a care taker in Ballarat by the name of Louie. He told us that further up the wash there is a large boulder that was uncovered by recent storms and that it's very difficult to get around. At any rate, we ended up going up South Park Canyon to Briggs camp and then beyond. Once you get past Briggs the trail becomes VERY skinny and scary. You have to cross the infamous log bridge (which is fun) but then there is a section about 20 feet past the bridge that borders on "death defying." Just make sure you have a spotter and you should be ok. South Park had no snow and was very cool. Good luck and have fun!!
