If you are coming from the South, the turnoff is a lot further north than you expect it to be. If you are trying to find it in the dark for the first time it can be a bit tricky, because the turn is not marked.
Sometimes one of the drags is left there, that can be a good indicator.
If it doesn't obviously look like a turnoff that takes a lot of traffic, it isn't the right one - there are lots of little ones, mostly with little rows of rocks across them, which should be ignored.
