Permanent Road Closures

Is there anywhere a list of roads closed permanently by the NPS in Death Valley? Or must you find out for yourself by driving there and discovering them closed when you get there? Sadly, it appears that they have closed many roads that had been in existence for decades. Personally, I oppose opening any new roads in the park/wilderness areas, but also oppose closing existing roads. Are the worst fears of the Desert Protection Act being realized?
