Saline Valley water

Here's a pretty basic question about Saline Valley:

I've only been to the springs once, for a couple of
nights, so I brought all my own drinking water.
Am I correct in assuming that the water there
(at the springs) is drinkable? I'm guessing that it
must be, since people often spend long periods of
time there.
