One of my favorite canyons to hike, is to the right of the Keane Wonder Mine Parking Lot. You will have to do some minor rock scrambling along the way, but over all it is well worth it and there are a few surprises along the way.
Be sure you let someone know where you are going, and or put a note on your windshield.
