No kidding! I was throughly ticked off a couple of years ago because I decided to take Tioga Pass over the mountains on the way back home - with a short stop in Mono Lake. I told the people I wasn't stopping in the Park, just driving on the road over the mountains. It seemed ridiculous to pay the entry fee if I wasn't going to be using the Park. The lady at the kiosk was not very nice either. Isn't this a public road and why isn't there some sort of provision for people just going over the mountain. I suppose next time I could take a different pass over.
