Last I heard, that because of the low price of gold on the market, open pitting was costing to much, so they were thinking about tunneling, and ended up hiring a contract miner who tunneled a 500 foot exploration and development drift. Their website states that they should now be Mining the Goldtooth deposit and that "The exploration potential to expand the Briggs reserves and elsewhere in the Panamint Range is discussed under Exploration."
