Regarding the Morning Report, we all just have to wait for the Interior Department's internet troubles to be resolved. If you are planning to visit, keep your itinerary flexible and check with the resorts or ranger stations for most current route conditions.
As for Saline Valley, I read an unconfirmed report from a stranger that the North Pass was icy and required 4x4 or 2x4 w/chains. And slow going -- the ice added an extra hour to their trip. Sorry, that's all I got right now.
