I hiked that road as far as the old telegraph poles. For anyone who wants to find it do north on the road to Scotty's Castle. Stop at the sign that says "WAGONWHEELS" or something like that. If you are facing the sign look directly behind you and you will see the road. Looking out behind the sign you can see the road going West but it fades into the sand after the well.
