A little late, but I was there last weekend and the road to Novacs camp is not closed. You can still park there. What happened is that there was a huge flash flood in September, which did an immense amount of destruction, much more, incidentally, than any four-wheeler could ever do. The gate that BLM put in was washed down the canyon and was only recentl re-installed. You can no longer drive down into the river-bed where you used to, the waster washed away the bank and it is now a 6-8 foot drop into the river. There used to be an old dozer half-buried at the top of the final waterfall which we used as a winch point when driving up the falls. That has been washed all the way down the falls and now rests in pieces in the river bed just above Novacs camp. The forces at work during that flood must have been absolutely awesome.
