I feel equally sick from all these closures. We CAN do something about it, though. I joined the Blue Ribbon Coalition (www.sharetrails.org) and the California Off Road Vehicle Assosiation (www.corva.org), and I am also submitting my recommendations to the BLM regarding the current route designation process in the West Mojave desert (www.ca.blm.gov/cdd/wemo.html).
I have not been to Death Valley yet, but I have been exploring the Mojave desert for over 15 years. I am currently building a Meyers Manx street legal buggy that I hope to use to explore the park on both paved and unpaved roads. Everyone's postings here have made me want to visit DV more than ever! I want to send a special thanks to everyone who is working hard to ensure that there will still be some backcountry trails when I finally get my buggy done.
