This is a great run for a stock 4x4. I caution against street tires on the eastern alluvial fan (small but bumpy "cobble stones"), but his Goodyear's will do fine. You'll really enjoy this one!

I don't know why this route is not more popular. It features remote and spectacular views, but is easy enough for a beginner.

If traveling west-to-east, upon reaching the edge of the dry lake bed, turn right to skirt the southern shoreline, joining the road to Ballerat at the mouth of Goler Wash. If you turn north, you'll eventually join the main road that connects Ballerat with Highway (this is definately the long way).
