The early summer monsoon brought scattered but major downpourings throughout the area. We saw them passing through the Panamints on the 4th of July.

I've not seen the actual results within the Park first hand, but on Saturday 7/7 we got stranded for a while by a serious flash flood in the El Paso Mtns near Red Rock Canyon. Especially neat was the entire acre of 9-inch deep hail stones left behind by a vicious afternoon thunderstorm. One couldn't help but wipe one's eyes after seeing the ground completely covered by ice balls -- in July!!!
