That was me. I just got back late last night. I've been in DV area since Oct 5. the "road" from Palm to Upper Warm Spring is nearly obliterated. After several futile attempts, I was able to make out where the road had been before the flooding. There were short remnants of road broken up with long washed out areas. there are a fair amount of tracks that just end. About 3/4 of the way to Upper Warm Spring, I only saw single tracks. It was "very" slow driving, but alot of fun. I made to the upper spring in about 45 mins from Palm. Walked about a mile north of Upper spring and the conditions didn't improve. I could have pressed on but I was running low on fuel and didn't want to get to Steele or Dedeckera and have to turn around because of conditions. A couple of vehicles and a couple of days doing "road work" is definately needed to make this passable again. I didn't approach from Eureka valley side so have no info on Dedeckera. Weather was awsome....
Does the NPS have plans to repair this route? Is that something that they've done in the past?
