127 from Baker is good, but kind of long. You might want to try 160 to 190, but by all means GET A MAP, the desert is no place to be lost. I've been running around that area since the early 80s and I keep at least a free AAA map with me. If you are a member of AAA go get the DV National Park map, its good map, plus pictures and general Information. Since you sound new to this area, make sure you have fuel, water, keep on the pavement and stay with your vehicle if you have trouble.
