Phoenix to Death Valley

Hi I'm travelling from Chicago to Phoenix this weekend and I was wondering if anyone out there will be making the trip from Phoenix to death valley who would give a lift to a girl and her dog. I can throw down gas money and some good company. If anyone's going to the Grand Canyon from Phoenix I want to go there too. I appreciate any leads on cheap transportation that will accomodate a dog.
