RIP Mike Patterson - Cerro Gordo's caretaker

I just saw word on the Saline Valley board that Mr. Patterson died recently. It's a shame - my wife and I enjoyed his hospitality on a trip there in 2007, and we always meant to go back again but did not make it.

The story of the love affair he and his wife shared for the town was very moving. He pointed out to us where his wife was buried - I can only assume he will rest near her on the hill above town.
