I just found out today that a couple of our buddies who usually make the trip had to cancel to go to a wedding, but they graciously gave us their previously reserved and paid for space at the Furnace Creek campground. They had been renting an RV the last few years and we would usually set up a tent, or just put our bedrolls on the ground, somewhere around their RV. Since they cancelled, I guess we'll be "tenting it" in space 107. The space is reserved for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. The entire "Lumbermen" group occkupies several spaces, but I usually don't know exactly where until we drive in and look for familiar vehicles, beer coolers, or the full service wet bar. My buddy from Iowa and I are pretty "free spirits" once we get to DV, so we usually don't know exactly what we are going to be doing, or when, until we meet up with "the boys", most of whom we havn't seen since last year. There's a good possibility that at least a few of us will be able to come over your way and say howdy. Since my buddy and I travel in Jeep Wranglers, and we usually spend about 10 days in the backcountry after the rest of the boys go home, I don't know what we could throw in for "pot luck" with our limited storage space and no refrigeration...hmmmm...I know we'll have some Mountain House freeze dried...and some of them there military MRE's....one of my buddy's desert specialties is "sardine burritos:, and I make "Bigfoot Burritos" out of Jack Link's "pre cooked", no-refrigeration necessary Mexican style ground beef and a can of no bean chili...roll it up in a tortilla, and mmmmm mmmmm good! I'm looking forward to getting back out there, especially since it started snowing about sundown here in Farmington and there's now about half a foot on the ground, and still falling...and it looked like spring had sprung a couple days ago with near 60 degree temps... We do those "highly collectible" t-shirts too!
