The road is mostly two-wheeler friendly except in the wash to the west of the mine, where the gravel is small, loose and deep and mixed with a lot of sand. To the east the road has deep sand ruts but you can ride on the edge or in the middle and get good firm surface. I had no problem riding the wash on a motorcycle with narrow dual-sport tires, but the wash definitely had some adrenalin pumping. I'd do it on a mountain bike with fat tires, but definitely *not* on a road bike.
