I believe that the Myers Ranch is a patented millsite claim. Thus, it's legal private property. As far as the extent of the boudaries of that private property, I don't know. A standard millsite claim is 5 acres, but miners used to be allowed to file on more than one millsite claim per lode claim. A millsite claim is filed for a processing area for mined ore. Usually it is filed where the land characteristics are favorable: A hillside for gravity flow, a water source present like spring, etc. At one time, folks could meet certain conditions and eventually receive legal title and ownership to their mining claims. Once that was done, the land is private property and can be used for anything the owner wants. There are a couple of major casinos in the Southern Nevada area that are built on old mining claims that became private property. Railroad Pass Casino between Las Vegas and Boulder City, and the Gold Strike Inn near Hoover Dam come to mind. If the Myers mining claim is patented, there is still an issue concerning the road being blocked. Most state laws do provide that after a certain period of time, a road or driveway across private property that is continually open to the public, becomes a legal route that cannot be blocked by the landowner. So you might have a point there, as I'm pretty sure that road would qualify. It just depends on the law and to what extent someone would want to challenge it.
