I wouldn't be worried about a Disco 2 on Lippincott. Don't air down the tires, just take it slow.

My concern would be your timing. If you leave LV at 9:00am, there's a good chance it'll be around 4:00pm by the time you start down Lippincott, and that's without sightseeing stops. Everything will be in the shadows by that time, and it will be totally dark by a little after 5:00pm. Once you get to the floor of the Saline Valley, plan on another 3 hours to 190, then 4 to L.A. The weekend of the 15th is the new moon, too, and out there it is DARK.

I wouldn't have wanted to go down Lippincott in the dark on my first time down. And if you did puncture a tire, changing it in the dark is no fun.
