a day trip? the suns going down ~5 right now. that doesn't leave much time for you to leave vegas at 9, stop at scotty's castle, (are you actually planning on doing the tour there), stopping at the crater, driving the 26 miles (slowly) to the racetrack, stopping to see it (are you going to walk out and see the rocks or the grandstand, both?). sun's already down by this time and you haven't even started down lippincott. the 3 legs of your trip on dirt - crater to racetrack, lippincott, and saline valley road to the highway are going to take an hour each at least and that's if you don't waste any time stopping and looking at stuff.
i'd suggest you take it slow and plan for a longer trip in the future.
