Remember the old rule, after Nov 15 carry tire chains. But, in the 1980s, we got snowed in Saline Valley for a week the first week of November with an early very big snow storm. Be Prepared!!! Plus carry enough food and supplies to last at least a week, no matter how short a time you planned on being out! The old adage: "When you go into the backcountry, you have to ask yourself: 'What will happen this time?' because it will!" DD
