No kidding, I kept thinking about that this whole trip. First of all, for me, if it didn't happen off 395, I didn't know about it. I didn't even know that I didn't know anything but that area. Fact is, I thought I was an old desert hand. It's amazing how little I knew about the area and how much I've learned. Hard to explain sitting around the Armagosa Opera House fireplace with the eight or so other people staying there. A guy brings up that it feels like we are in a scene from a reality program or perhaps one of those murder games. But I was thinking, man, if it hadn't been for lara's photo of the place, I would have blown on by it and stayed at Longstreet or Shoshone. Heading to the east side of Death Valley, for example is a thing strange and new to me. I just passed through that country on the way to Vegas, phone booth, or the Colorado River. Now it's my new backyard. DVT berry goot.
