I was recently near Bryce Canyon, and found a Horned Lizard with a lot of orange splotches on its back. Apparently a Northern Desert Horned Lizard, though the one I'd seen on the North Rim was all shades of brown.

I gather they have a lot of color variations depending on their environment. So were there similarly colored rocks or sands in the area where you saw yours?
