The Teachings of Alex Aposolides

You mystic warriors might enjoy reading about Alex Apostolides, a friend of Carlos Castaneda, author of "The Teachings of Don Juan," and endless follow-up books.

Alex was a friend of Casteneda's back in the Sixties at UCLA, and discussed the life of a shaman long before Carlos published his first book. People have actually implied that Apostolides is Don Juan, but I knew him well enough to say that is unlikely. He might be one of Castaneda's parmary soure, however.

Alex also knew Gary Jennings of "Aztec" fame and hiked with him while he researched his great work.

Alex lived at Bickel Camp and was a friend of Walt Bickel.

He now lives in a stone water tank converted to a house in El Paso, Texas. Desert lovers, will likely love his story.
