What was current last month may not be what is current today. The area got a lot of rain over the last week or so, some area got hit really hard, and 20 miles away there was nothing. Best to check with Park Service - at this point the Morning Report doesn't show a closure.

If you are going from west to east, the Thing might make it, based on normal conditions. If I remember correctly, the Thing has reasonable clearance, and a flat belly pan. Easing is downhill and you may make it. I would definitely not try going to east to west. That's partly how the pass is getting more torn up - 2wd trying to make it and spinning holes.
