I will be coming down next week and would like to visit the geologist cabin in butte valley. I made it up the goler wash to the barker ranch in april. I would like to avoid mengal pass and go from the westside road. Is this possible? What are the road conditions from that side? The goler wash is about the roughest road I want to take, nothing rougher. I will be carrying a PLB just in case.
